INTRODUCTION

How to show & tell a very first & unique story of Vietnamese vampire?

Daydreamer, directed by Timothy Linh Bui, tells the story of an ​outsider vampire in Vietnam who faces social marginalization. ​The film explores how this individual intentionally goes against ​traditional paths, even at the expense of betraying their ​heritage and defying their faith. It delves into the complexities ​of the vampire's relationship with his contrasting brother.

For this project, we need an animation opening sequence ​showing vampires moving from Europe to Vietnam. After that, ​Vietnamese vampires split into two groups — one that drinks ​human blood and another that doesn't. This leads to an ongoing ​underground conflict that continues into modern times.

Normally, people choose one method to ​kill their vampire in their film. We can go ​this way or combine some killing methods ​for visualizing the hundreds of years of ​raising vampires in Vietnam and the war ​between them and human.

Usually, fire is bright yellow and looks very real. But in our case, we want to ​make it a bit mysterious and dramatic, although not too much.


To achieve this effect, we will need to play with the colour and intensity of ​the flames. Perhaps a darker shade of orange or even red would create the ​desired effect. Additionally, we can manipulate the lighting around the fire ​to cast shadows and add depth to the scene. This will give the impression ​that the fire is not just a mere physical object, but a force to be reckoned ​with. It's important to strike a balance between realism and artistic ​interpretation when creating this type of effect. By doing so, we can enhance ​the overall visual impact of the fire and captivate our audience.
